Is Coffee Better Than a Husband?

Trust me ladies, even when my husband is more Homer Simpson than David Beckham, I still know that without him, I’d be in it completely by myself. And that would be awful. That said, I wonder if there are times when I’d get more done with another cup of coffee than I would by asking my husband to do something. Here are a few scenarios that I think you might have been through once or twice:
Dishes need to be done and it’s the fourth quarter of Monday Night Football. Who do you need? Coffee. Unless you want to wake up to dirty dishes the next day.
Backyard needs to be picked up because the dog hasn’t been walked in a while. Which is more important? Husband. I’m willing to wait for him to pick up the poop.
You need a backup alarm for your super-early day? Well, if you have a very fancy coffee maker with a timer, coffee wins. If you’re not fancy (like me), you have no choice. Husband.
You need a tall, dark and hot date to the PTO meeting? Coffee. Husband can stay home with the kids. But remember to sit in the back of the room so you don’t get “volun-told” for a job for the next school fundraiser.
Binge-watching “Orange is the New Black”? Definitely coffee. That is, if you can’t find a gal-pal to join you. If you can, wine.
Most days I’m thankful for hubby, even when I wonder how many times I’m going to have to ask him to clean up the basement. Some jobs I just coffee-up and do myself; others, well, it’s worth the wait.
