Can I brew tea with the Platinum brewer?

You can’t brew tea in the machine, but you can make hot water for steeping a tea bag. Just pour your water into the reservoir and leave the brew basket slot empty. Press the start button and the Platinum will fill your cup with hot water in a just few minutes. Hot water from the brewer also works great for dried soups and noodles.

 

Can I make hot chocolate with the Platinum brewer?

You can generate hot water that fills a cup with hot chocolate mix in it. Pour your water (do not use milk) into the reservoir and leave the brew basket slot empty. Press the start button and the Platinum will fill your cup with hot water in just a few minutes. We recommend using only 6 oz of water to avoid overflow.

 

How do I clean/maintain my brewer?

For easy cleaning, combine 5 oz of water and 5 oz of plain white vinegar and pour the mixture into the water reservoir. Place a cup on the cup platform and push the start button. Do this once more and then finish the process with 10 oz of cold water to flush the system.

 

Periodic cleaning will extend the life of your Café Valet brewer. For areas with hard water, we recommend cleaning your brewer monthly.

 

What size cup should I use?

The Platinum brewer can make a 10-ounce cup of great-tasting coffee in just a few minutes. For a stronger brew, use 8 ounces of water.

 

Can I purchase just the brew basket?

Unfortunately, no. The brew basket and coffee filter are only sold together. 

 

My Platinum brewer suddenly stopped working. What happened?

It may just need to cool down. Any time you brew a cup of coffee, wait about one minute for the brewer to cool and reset itself before starting another cup. If you still have trouble, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

 

I plugged in my Platinum brewer and I can’t turn it off. Why?

The button was likely depressed before you plugged in the brewer. When that happens, you cannot turn the brewer off by pushing the button. Wait about 10 seconds for the machine to detect an absence of water and shut off automatically.

Is the Barista compatible with all capsules?

Yes—you can use our great-tasting Café Valet capsules, which benefit Folds of Honor, or any other coffee, tea or cocoa capsules you enjoy.

  

What size cup should I use?

 The Barista can make a 10-ounce cup of great-tasting coffee in just a few minutes. For a stronger brew, use 8 ounces of water.

 

How do I clean/maintain my brewer?

 Pour ¾ cup of equal parts plain white vinegar and water into the reservoir and place a 10 oz (or larger) cup on the cup platform. Press the power button once. After 30 seconds, press the power button again to the halt the brewing cycle and allow the vinegar to clean. After 30 minutes, press the power button again to finish the brewing cycle. Empty and rinse the cup, then run 2-3 more cycles of cold tap water to completely rinse the brewer. We recommend using the process once a month, or more frequently if you have hard water.

What credit cards do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

 

When will my order ship?

Orders placed by 2 p.m. CST/CDT Monday through Friday typically ship the same day. Orders placed after 2 p.m. Monday through Friday are shipped the next business day. Orders placed on a weekend ship on Monday.

 

Do you ship outside the U.S.?

Not at this time. We ship to the 48 contiguous states. Unfortunately, we do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii.

 

Is there a shipping or processing fee?

Shipping is free for orders of $70 or more (not including taxes). There is a flat shipping and handling fee of $6 per order for orders of less than $70 (before taxes). 

 

Can I track the status of my shipment?

Yes. When your order has been shipped, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to track the shipment. You can also login to your account and click the “view order status” button on the left side of the screen.

 

How do I earn loyalty points and how can I use them?

Easy—set up a profile on our website and you’ll automatically be enrolled in our loyalty points program. The program awards 10 points for every dollar you spend (before taxes). When you accumulate 1,000 points you can redeem a coupon code for $10 off your next order. When you’re logged in, look for the Loyalty Points button at the bottom of your screen and click it to view your points and find information on redeeming awards.
